Happy Easter! Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia! He is risen! As we gather together to celebrate this joyous day, please know of my prayers and best wishes on this most holy day! Thank you to all those who have helped to make today’s celebration possible! And a special thank you to all of you for coming together to celebrate and rejoice in Jesus’ resurrection!
In a very special way we celebrate this Easter, not just the resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ from the dead, we also mark a very historic celebration in the life of our parish family. On this day, 100 years ago, the story of faith of St. Vincent de Paul parish began. It’s a story that has been told many times, by many people, and in many ways over these past 100 years. But in all the ways that it’s been told, the story of faith has centered around the great mystery of our faith that we celebrate here in this church; the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus from the dead. Throughout the past 100 years and as we move forward into the future, the story of Jesus risen from the dead has been, not just told, but also lived in all those who have called St. Vincent de Paul parish home. Our call and our challenge as we celebrate this day is to recommit ourselves to continuing to tell that story today. My brothers and sisters, may we live lives that continue to proclaim that Jesus is alive in our world today! May the story of faith continue to be told through the life and love that radiates from St. Vincent de Paul Parish!
On this Easter day and in this Easter season may we truly proclaim in word and deed that Jesus is risen and alive in our world today. Alleluia!
