This Monday we observe the Memorial Day holiday. The history of our country is marked by countless numbers of men & women who have paid the ultimate price, laying down their lives under the banner of freedom. Men and women who have been willing to pay the ultimate price for a higher ideal & for the good of all.

  Please join us on Monday morning at 9:00 am at St. Vincent de Paul as we remember the great sacrifice made by so many in the context of the great sacrifice of our Lord who laid down His life for us on the cross.

  The story of our faith, the story of our country, is the story of both parishes, all 3 are stories filled with stories of sacrifice. Whether we are parishioners of St. Patrick or of St. Vincent de Paul, so many have made countless sacrifices for the good of our parish communities. For 175 years at St. Patrick & 100 years at St. Vincent de Paul, countless numbers of men & women have made countless sacrifices for the good of each parish family. In light of all of those sacrifices, it can be challenging to think about the future that we are entering into. The finishing touches are being put on our updated & revised Mass schedule & it’s my hope to be able to present the plan to both parish families sometime during the summer months. As we enter into this new journey this new phase of parish life, I’d invite & encourage us to do so under the idea of “Two Parishes, One Faith.” We are 2 parishes, that is my plan, to maintain & to support the identity & the good of both parish families. While we are 2 parish families, we are united by 1 Lord, 1 God, 1 Faith. And I believe that in this moment in time, our 1 Lord & God is calling & inviting us to work together for the good of both parish families. Individually we can do so much, but together we can do even more. Yes, we may have to travel a few extra minutes for Mass. Yes, there may be some events that we are used to having separately that may need to be combined going forward, but as 2 Parishes united together & working together under the banner of 1 Faith, there is a tremendous amount of good that we can do together that perhaps we couldn’t do as well individually. There are some great opportunities, I truly believe, for growth here, working together to build up the Kingdom of God in an even greater way.
