First off, let me start by saying that you might not see me this weekend. I am not on vacation, but this Saturday, April 10th, I’m getting the second round of my COVID vaccine & so Fr. Clyde & Fr. Klein are planning on covering all the Masses just in case I happen to have any side effects. If I am able to, I will celebrate a Mass this weekend but at the very least I look forward to celebrating with you once any side effects have passed.
Thank you to all those who helped to make our Holy Week & Easter celebrations prayerful, reverent, & joyful. The old saying goes that many hands make light work & that is especially true when it comes to the liturgies & prayers of Holy Week, especially when it comes to planning & organizing all the details & plans between 2 different parishes. In the weeks leading up to Easter, I constantly found myself looking at the plans in my Holy Week & Easter binder. I’d go through one parish plan & make my notes & then go through the other & then try to keep them all straight in mind.
Thankfully I don’t & I didn’t have to do it all on my own. God has blessed me & us with a number of dedicated people who worked tirelessly, both behind & in front of the scenes, to make everything run smoothly. I’m not going to start naming names because I know that I’d inadvertently end up forgetting someone & leaving them off the list, so please know of my appreciation & thanks for all that anyone has & is doing to keep everything running smoothly.
As we continue to celebrate in these days of Easter joy & on this 2nd Sunday of Easter, known as Divine Mercy Sunday, as we rejoice in the abundant love & mercy of our God may we continue to strive to live lives that are transformed by that love & mercy, reflecting it to our community & our world!
Again, maybe I’ll see you this weekend or, if not, hopefully as the week goes on. Have a blessed week!
