I want to extend to you an invitation. I want to extend to each of you an invitation to consider becoming part of our Parish Pastoral Council. The Parish Pastoral Council is a group of parishioners who assist me in the tasks of discerning the vision and goals for our parish, helping to continue to move our parish forward. These parishioners are not meant to be the people who do everything, but are rather meant to serve as a representative voice of our larger parish family, working with me and helping me as I seek to do my best in leading 2 parish families.
Currently we have 4 parishioners who, along with Deacon Ken, meet with me on a monthly basis from September—May. We are always open to and looking for another voice or two to be part of our Council. There are no special qualifications other than continue moving forward. Accepting the invitation to join Parish Pastoral Council is not a lifetime commitment either. Members of the Parish Pastoral Council serve for a 1-2 year term and may stay on for another year or two after that if they so choose. Other than the monthly meetings (currently the last Monday of the month) there isn’t a large amount of extra work involved. Parish Pastoral Council members are not the uber-volunteers who do everything for us, but who help me and us in the invaluable task of discerning the way forward.
Please consider the invitation to become a part of our Parish Pastoral Council. If you are at all interested, please reach out and let me know. We are seeking to keep our Council around 7 people, so if we get more interest than that we will add new members on a rotating basis. Please consider answering this important call!
